Why are some people naturally smart?
Why are some people naturally smart?
I know somebody who doesn't study and studied the day before a physics test and got a 100. Also, he just took the GMAT (He is a bio major) and did not study for that and got a 790. He told me he just always found school to be easy and laughs at tutors. He said he has never read a textbook and understands everything in class. How is this possible?
there are three things:
he was born smart.
OR
he is obviously lying about not studying at all for a test, if i were to give him some random test on any subject, i'm pretty sure he would flunk it.
altho some people study very little, and then memorize everything for the test... that's called genetics
also, he could have taken many tutors and extra math classes when he was young.
those things exercise your brain, and that prepares for your learning experience.
and, FINALLY.. there is one thing u must understand
u must KNOW, FEEL, and THINK that schools is easy
if you feel superior to school, and you make it feel easy, and stuff like that, you'll be successful, and that "trait" or "habit" will stick with you
if you feel all nervous about school and think it's hard, then that's what your brain will interpret it to be.
if you think something is easy, it's not just gonna be like magic and it's easy like that, but your brain puts off less stress, therefore you'll do a better job AND it will be slightly easier.
but don't get too cocky about it
one exercise to help you would be studying and finishing your homework right after you get home.
try finishing it as fast as possible WITH ACCURACY.
speed is nothing without accuracy.
then rest your @ss off for the next five hours...
seriously, this will make you feel school is so easy
trust me, this worked for me.
just TRY this.
you WON'T regret it.
oh, and plus, always pay attention in class and take efficient notes.
this makes it even easier.
if u pay attention in class, most likely, you will barely have to study for your tests..
yes it may seem like a burden...
but when u add up all the number of hours for free time... it's an enormous difference...
people like talking during class and wasting their time.. then they go home with many hours of studying to do
plus talking during class isn't even that fun
but when u do what i tell u to do
you'll have so much time after school is over...
and u can hang out with friends afterwards...
with most of your grades being A's...
sorry for typing this really quickly
i may have some spelling errors and crap..
but i hope this helped u! ![]()
GMAT RESULT: what next?
Ok... I studied for a two months and scored a wopping 250 on the gmat because I lost track of the time on the first section and I felt too comfortable on the verbal. Results: Q:16 V:10=250 and now I'm very disappointed in myself because I'm KNOW that I'm a smart individual that's capable of graduate level work. The funny thing is, I studied on my own for two months and I wasn't doing too well overall but I keep with it. It's getting late in the admission process and I'm not sure about what I should do. However, the school of my choice told me that all I need based on my overall application is a 550-580. I don't want to settle for one school that has accepted me without requiring GMAT scores, I also heard Online degrees get bad reviews by employers. I'm frustrated because I made a effort. Now I have to pay for a tutor, hopefully that can help me with the Quant section. Any suggestion about what my next move should be. The school has rolling admission, should I explain why I did so bad?
I would continue studying. Tutor may not be a bad idea in your situation. The fact that you lost track of time is telling that you were not very familiar with exam's format.
My daughter studied for GMAT for about 8 months, she had a full time job and studied on weekends.
So, as you see some people study longer. She got 710.
She was studying using few books and did a lot of self-exams. Do not rush, you will get better. If you will present good score to the school, I do not think they will care.
