The core differences between the regular MBA and Executive Program MBA?
Anyone know the difference between the executive program and the regular harvard mba? is one you got to pay and you get in automatically like an school extension?
Do employers look at regular MBAs more highly than Executive Program MBAs? If you are a president of your own company and young is it better to go for the regular MBA or executive program mba?
Harvard does not offer an Executive MBA. They do offer Executive Education -- which are courses designed for those in the work force, but not to be used towards a degree.
Many top business schools do offer an Executive MBA. Wharton's is the best (in my opinion).
The executive MBA students generally have more work experience than the daytime MBA students, and are often executives in the companies where they work. They usually continue to work full time during the program. They meet year round every other weekend for two years-- often on Fridays and Saturdays.
EMBA programs at the top schools are taught by the same professors who teach the daytime students. Since EMBA programs are smaller, they usually do not have the same selection of classes available to the daytime students.
I taught the same class to daytime students at Wharton as I did to the weekend EMBA students. The quality of the students was similar and the material taught was identical.
EMBA programs are just as hard to get into as daytime programs.
Executive Education classes not intended for a degree are easy to get into -- though they are expensive.
